Origin

Founded in 2020 during the Covid-19 Pandemic by vipers vetran linebacker patrick maguire. As American Football Ireland cancelled the 2020 and 2021 season the Vipers decided to take their skills to flag football in a more fast paced game.

What is flag football?

Flag football is a faster paced version of American Football with 5 players on each side of the ball. It is non contact and requires no helmet or shoulder pads. The objective of the game is to either run of pass the ball into the end zone for a touchdown. Tackles can be made in flag football by pulling an opponents flag from their belt in a tag rugby format.

Who can play flag football?

Flag Football is open to anyone aged 16 and above. Flag Football encourages both male and female players to join. There are both Male and Female leagues within American Football Ireland with constant mixed tournaments taking place in the off-season of the league.
